Amid the widespread evacuations from the North Bay fires, a large number of residents on Monday are seeking shelter for not only themselves, but for their animals as well.

Many locations are filling up.

One volunteer at the Sonoma Humane Society in Santa Rosa told KTVU it has been extremely difficult, as the shelter is working with a "skeleton crew."

The volunteer said that many shelter employees could not get to work, due to road closures or were evacuated themselves and have lost their homes.

A number of shelters have been set up for people and their pets in Sonoma County.
