One person killed in early morning Castro Valley house fire

CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. (KTVU) - One person was killed Tuesday in an early morning house fire on Grove way in Castro Valley, according to Alameda County Fire officials.

The fire was first reported just before 3:00a.m on the 1800 block of Grove Way right on the border of Hayward.

When crews arrived on scene and began the fire fight they discovered that one person had been killed.

Officials say that the fire appeared to start in the attic of the home, but a cause of the fire has not been determined.

One firefighter hurt their hand while battling the blaze, but is expected to be OK.
