San Jose Bar stabbing leaves 1 dead, 1 hurt

- San Jose Police investigators are searching for the person responsible for an overnight double stabbing that left one person dead and another hurt.

Around 12:41am police were called to the scene on the 3200 block of S. White road near the intersection of Aborn road in East San Jose.

The San Jose Mercury news reports the stabbing took place during a fight outside a local bar called the Elegant Pub.

Officers found two men suffering from stab wounds and rushed them to a local hospital, where one was pronounced dead.  The other’s injuries were determined to be non-life threatening.

People on social media reported seeing a huge emergency response in that area.

Investigators searched the area but where not able to locate the person or  people responsible.  They have also not been able to determine the motive for the attack.  The coroner’s office said it will not release the identity of the man until his next of kin are notified.  According to the San Jose Police Department website, this is the city’s 7th homicide of the year.  The San Jose Mercury news reports there were just 4 homicides at this point last year and 30 homicides for all of  2015.  Anyone with information about the case can contact SJPD homicide detectives at 408-277-5283 or leave a tip with Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at 408-947-STOP (7867) or with svcrimestoppers.org.
