Police: Argument between roommates led to San Jose deadly stabbing

A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder for the fatal stabbing of his housemate in unincorporated San Jose late Sunday night, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office.

Jerry Hartman was arrested after deputies responded at 11:39 p.m. to a report of a stabbing inside a home on Fairway Drive near the San Jose Country Club, sheriff's officials said.

The deputies arrived and found the 21-year-old victim with at least one stab wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his name is not yet being released, sheriff's officials said.

Hartman was taken into custody at the residence and was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of murder.
