UNION CITY, Calif. (KTVU) - Police have arrested a woman they say tried to set a Union City preschool on fire.
The school is operated by Safari Kid and the act was caught on surveillance cameras.
Police say they received an anonymous tip, which led to the arrest of 39-year-old Kristina Romo of Union City.
Court documents say Romo admitted to the crimes and said she was angry and thought the school was hiding children under the property.
Romo faces charges of arson and attempted arson in connection with the crime.
A detective at Newark Police Department suspects an arson at Safari Kid preschool on Newark Boulevard over Memorial Day Weekend may be related to the Union City incident from November of last year.
Monisha Pandit with Safari Kid says "this was not a target at our specific school" in a statement.
