Police searching for man who stabbed three at Lafayette BART station

Three people were stabbed on the platform of the Lafayette BART station. 

Police are now searching for the suspect near the station. Officials say the suspect is a white male in his 30s or 40s, has blonde hair, is unshaven, and is wearing a green jacket and backpack. 

BART police say all of the victims have minor injuries. When officers arrived there were only two victims. The other may have left on their own.

The two victims are a 20-year-old male with a minor head injury and a 19-year-old male with a minor hand injury. BART police say the suspect tried to rob one of the victims of his backpack. 

The suspect left the BART station after the stabbing and is believed to be on foot in the area.

The incident happened at 10:00 Sunday morning.
