Police seek suspects in Pleasant Hill carjacking

PLEASANT HILL (BCN) - A 56-year-old woman was the victim of a carjacking Wednesday night outside of a Pleasant Hill sporting goods store, police said.

Police responded at about 8:10 p.m. to the parking lot of Dick's Sporting Goods at 2314 Monument Blvd. on a report of the carjacking, according to police.

Officers determined the victim had parked her blue 1998 Nissan sedan in the parking lot when two men stopped her as she got out of the car, police said.

The suspects took her car keys from her pocket and drove away in her car. Officers saw the vehicle in Oakland at about 10 p.m. and pursued it, police said.

The suspects ran after abandoning the vehicle on Creekside Circle, off 105th Avenue near Interstate Highway 880 in Oakland.

A police search for the suspects was unsuccessful.

Officers are describing one suspect as a white man in his early 20s with a thin build who wore a white shirt, blue jeans and a hat.

Officers are describing the other suspect as a black man in his early 20s with a thin build who wore a hooded dark jacket and dark pants.

Police have released sketches of the two suspects. Anyone with more information about the carjacking or suspects is being asked to get in touch with the Pleasant Hill Police Department's investigations division at (925) 288-4630.
