Rep. Barbara Lee to speak in San Francisco, Oakland Friday night

U.S. Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Oakland, will speak at events on both sides of the Bay this evening.

First, at 6:30 p.m., she'll be at the Commonwealth Club in San Francisco, 110 The Embarcadero.

Lee will be in conversation with journalist Belva Davis, discussing the controversial nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, what's ahead for the next election cycle, the

Trump administration's effect on the women's vote as well as celebrating Lee's 20 years in Congress. Visit www.commonwealthclub.org for event information.

Then at 8:30 p.m. at Oakland City Hall, Lee will join in a candidate forum with Laura Wells, the Green Party challenger to Lee's House of Representatives seat in the November general election.

The candidate forum will be moderated by the League of Women Voters.
