San Francisco shooting injures 1, suspect in custody after pursuit into Oakland

San Francisco police have arrested a suspect in a brazen mid-day shooting after pursuing the suspect's vehicle into Oakland, Saturday.

The shooting was reported to police at 12:44 p.m. at Golden Gate and Hyde streets. Arriving officers located an adult male victim suffering from multiple gun shot wounds.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital in life-threatening condition.

The suspect, who was reported to have fled the scene in a white sedan, was spotted by police near the area following the shooting.

San Francisco police officers began a pursuit, chasing the suspect into Oakland before stopping the vehicle in the area of 24th St. and Mandela Pkwy.

Officers were able to detain the suspect without incident, taking him into custody and recoverng a firearm.

San Francisco police have not yet released the suspect's name.
