San Jose officers fire gunshots at dogs who charged at them

San Jose officers shot at dogs who charged at them early Wednesday morning. 

According to San Jose police, officers responded to a disturbance call in the 3000 block of Florence Avenue in San Jose. 

As officers approached the home, three dogs charged at the officers, according to police. 

Two officers shot at the dogs. One of the dogs was injured. The dogs retreated and hid under a vehicle, according to police. 

The owner of the home tells KTVU the dog, a Rottweiler, was shot in the leg and is being treated. 

The officers were not injured. 

Police were waiting for Santa Clara Animal Control to arrive. 

At this point additional details have not been released.
