(San Jose Police Department)

San Jose police have arrested three suspects in connection to a Christmas Day stabbing that left one man dead.

On December 30th, two suspects; Jonathan Gonzalez and Luciano Esquivel, were arrested in San Jose and booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for robbery and murder, according to police.

Police said a third suspect, Brian Gutierrez, was already in custody at the jail for other charges.

The early-morning incident, December 25th, claimed the life of 24-year-old Jose Luis Marin. Police responded to the 200 block of N. 26th street on reports of a person stabbed. When police arrived, they found the victim bleeding and stabbed at least once. Marin was transported to a local hospital where he died shortly after.

According to family members, Marin was walking to his car with a group of friends. His friends said the suspects approached them and asked if they belonged to a gang. That’s when Marin was stabbed. The friends fled. Marin was said to be a “diehard” heavy metal fan and not involved with any gangs.
