SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - The San Jose Police Department is investigating an auto vs. pedestrian fatal hit and run collision.
It occurred just after 3 a.m. on Saturday. San Jose officers were dispatched to E. Hedding and N 15th Streets responding to a person down call.
When they arrived, officers saw an adult male victim who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The preliminary investigation shows that the victim was in the road when he was struck. The vehicle fled the scene.
The suspect has not been found. The victim's identity will be released upon notification of next of kin.
This is San Jose's 42nd fatal collision and 44th victim of 2016.
