Santa Rosa man arrested in connection with vandalizing several properties

Police in Santa Rosa this morning arrested a man in connection with vandalizing several properties.

Gerardo Gomez Castillo, 24, of Santa Rosa, was arrested on suspicion of felony vandalism and probation violation, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

Officers responded at 12:17 a.m. to the Taco Bell at 1416 Farmers Lane on a report of a vandalism incident.

A citizen had reported a man had written on several buildings and objects with yellow paint.

The witness described the suspect as a man with long hair, wearing a dark sweatshirt and dark hat and carrying a gray backpack.

Responding officers checked the area and located the suspect, identified as Castillo, at a convenience store in the 1400 block of Maple Avenue.

During the investigation, police located several locations, both public and private, in the area of Farmers Lane that had been vandalized with yellow graffiti.

Officers determined Castillo was responsible for the graffiti and located additional evidence in Castillo's possession, police said.
