Shelter in place for SF Tenderloin lifted

San Francisco Police Department has lifted a shelter-in-place for the city's Tenderloin neighborhood saying the incident of a suspicious device investigation has been cleared. 

The city put out an updated alert at around 2 p.m. saying the situation at Turk Street and Leavenworth was resolved.

Several blocks were closed to traffic Wednesday afternoon following a report of a suspicious device, according to police.

Police received a call reporting the device in the area of Turk and Leavenworth streets at 12:39 p.m., according to Officer Giselle Linnane.

The 200 block of Turk and the 100 block of Leavenworth were closed to both traffic and pedestrians.

San Francisco Municipal Railway service was also affected. 

SFPD tweeted at 1:59 p.m. that they would be removing specialized equipment and that streets would reopen soon.
