South Bay charity in desperate need of more turkeys

Thanksgiving is just a few days away and time is running out for a South Bay charity to collect food for the less fortunate.

Sacred Heart still needs more than 1,000 turkeys in the next couple of days.

The group ended up registering 4,200 families, which is a few hundred more than last year.

Many of the families work but still struggle to pay bills and the rent.

On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday those families are going to be coming to the pantry to receive food.

In addition to low income families, the charity is also giving away holiday food boxes to the homeless.

Families are going to start showing up a little bit before 9 a.m. The group will give away what they have, but they are in desperate need of more donations.
