Reliever Sergio Romo and the San Francisco Giants have agreed to a $9 million, two-year contract, avoiding salary arbitration.

The deal announced Wednesday means the Giants have settled all of their potential arbitration cases before hearings.

Romo, who made $1,575,000 last season, had asked for $4.5 million in 2013 with the Giants offering $2,675,000. Romo will be eligible to be a free agent after the 2014 season.

Romo went 4-2 with 14 saves and a 1.79 ERA last season. He was the team's primary closer in the postseason, when he had one win, four saves and a 0.84 ERA in 10 appearances. He struck out Miguel Cabrera to finish San Francisco's sweep of Detroit in the World Series that gave the Giants their second championship in three seasons.
