It’s almost time to hit the ski slopes.

With Squaw Valley-Alpine Meadows' expected Nov. 16 open date quickly approaching, the North Lake Tahoe ski resort shared stunning photos that show off the $1 million they invested into snowmaking. A resort official said the new technology creates a more efficient process that leads to a high quality snow surface.

Additionally, Squaw Valley spent $1.4 million renovating the Alpine Meadows Base Lodge and expanded their carpool program, which offers free premium parking to guests who carpool with four or more passengers in the vehicle.

Unfortunately, the 10-day forecast shows no snow. Temperatures are expected to be in the mid-40s during the expected open date.

Mt. Rose is already open. Heavenly Mountain Resort and Northstar California expect to open in mid-November, too.
