Warriors star Steph Curry is speaking out about the Colin Kaepernick controversy.
"I love that there's freedom of speech and he can stand for what he believes in."
In an interview with CNBC, Curry said he supports the 49er quarterback's decision not to stand during the national anthem.
"Hopefully it will drive the conversation to bettering equal rights and treatment of African Americans and people of color," Curry said.
"I applaud him for taking a stand and hopefully the conversation is about what his message was."
Curry also praised Kaepernick for "putting his money where his mouth is" by donating $1 million to organizations dedicating to fighting the issues he cares about.
