Suspect behind bizarre Vallejo kidnapping indicted

The man allegedly at the center of a bizarre kidnap-for-ransom plot in Vallejo was indicted Thursday by a federal grand jury in Sacramento.

Matthew Muller was indicted on a charge of kidnapping for allegedly abducting Denise Huskins early the morning of March 23, accosting her boyfriend Aaron Quinn and demanding a $15,000 for her return and then released her unharmed hundreds of miles away near her father’s home in Huntington Beach (Orange County).

Muller was identified as a suspect after a similar home invasion in Dublin on June 5. Muller has pleaded no contest in that case.

He will return to federal court in Sacramento on Monday to be arraigned on the federal indictment, which replaces an earlier criminal complaint filed by prosecutors.

In other recent developments in the strange case, two weeks ago attorneys for the couple filed a claim against the city of Vallejo because police initially dismissed her kidnapping as a hoax.
