Teen football players could be charged as adults in alleged rape of student: report

- Contra Costa County prosecutors are poised to charge two teens who played football this season at De La Salle and Ygnacio Valley high schools as adults in the alleged rape of a Carondelet High School student, the East Bay Times reported.

“We have given notice that we are seeking a transfer to adult court,” Contra Costa County Deputy District Attorney Devon Bell told the newspaper on Monday.

The boys  are charged with kidnapping to commit rape, rape and two counts of oral copulation.

In May, a freshman was found in juvenile court to have raped a student in November.

De La Salle, an all-boys Catholic school, sits across the street from its all-girls sister campus Carondelet.
