SAN FRANCISCO (Christien Kafton/KTVU) - Thousands turned out in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park for the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on Saturday.
Walkers hit the trail this morning. Their presence and action helps to raise money and awareness about the fight against breast cancer.
This was the 20th year the American Cancer Society has hosted the event in San Francisco.
Cancer survivors shared personal stories and advocated for others to get checked and to fight the disease with everything possible.
KTVU’s Tara Moriarty emceed today's event and talked to survivors about how breast cancer can strike anyone at any time.
