DAVIS, Calif. - A freight train derailed along the Capitol Corridor on Friday morning, stopping service to or from the Davis station for about two hours, according to the train station.
In a statement, Union Pacific Railroad spokesman Justin E. Jaconbs said an eastbound train derailed at 4 a.m. along the Martinez Subdivision in Davis. The rail car that derailed was an autorack, the statement said. The car remained upright, there were no injuries and the incident is currently under investigation.
Capitol Corridor tweeted service was restored about 6 a.m.
