Vallejo Police arrest suspect in 2 violent hammer attack cases

19-year-old arrested for two violent robberies in Solano County.

A 19-year-old robbery suspect is under arrest in Solano County, accused of two vicious attacks using a hammer.

William David King was booked Wednesday in the Solano County jail on two separate counts of attempted murder.

Vallejo Police say he beat a woman over the head with a hammer, after she walked out of a Wells Fargo Bank Tuesday morning.

King is accused of then attacking a 63-year-old woman and stealing her purse, at the Solano Town Center Mall Wednesday in Fairfield.

She is in critical condition, with life-threatening injuries.

"I mean that's not much younger than my mother," said Pam Delapa, Fairfield. "To think that could happen, when you're here just doing shopping in the parking lot."

Through their investigation, Vallejo police detectives later tracked down King in vallejo, and arrested him during a traffic stop.

They recovered the woman's purse, and say he has confessed.
