VIDEO: Contra Costa County sheriff's air crew rescue calf from tree

- We've all heard about firefighters rescuing cats from trees.

But what about a calf?

In this case, the heroes were the air crew of the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office who were conducting some rescue training last week in the rural Round Valley near Los Vaqueros in the eastern part of the county.

The crew from STARR1 helicopter noticed that there was a baby cow with its head stuck in a tree. The pilot did several orbits and saw the calf was struggling, a sheriff's spokesman wrote on its YouTube page.

So, the crew landed and ended up breaking away part of the tree stump to free the calf's head. The animal was able to mooooooooooove away without injury, and the deputies high-fived at their success.
