The Arab Resource and Organizing Center is planning a vigil at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Lake Merritt Amphitheater in Oakland to mourn the lives lost in the New Zealand mosque shooting.

The event is billed as a "community vigil against Islamophobia to express solidarity with our brothers and sisters in New Zealand, and all those targeted by white nationalism."

A gunman opened fire at two mosques in New Zealand during prayers on Friday, killing 50 people. Many more were wounded.

The amphitheater is located between 12th Street and First Avenue near the Lake Merritt BART station.
