Water advisory issued for Santa Rosa neighborhood

The City of Santa Rosa is warning people in the Fountaingrove neighborhood that the water in the area is not safe to drink.

The water department issued an advisory to 13 homes in that neighborhood yesterday, after contaminants were found in some water samples.

They say the water system was damaged in the recent North Bay fires, but the contamination isolated to two specific area in Fountaingrove.

The city says boiling the water will not make it safe to drink due to the type of contamination.

For now, people are being told to use bottled water to drink and cook with, until further notice.
