White House press secretary Sean Spicer resigns, replaced by Sarah Huckabee

WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) White House press secretary Sean Spicer is resigning his position, the Associated Press first reported through sources.

One of those people said Spicer is quitting because of objections over the appointment of a new White House communications director, New York financier Anthony Scaramucci.

Scaramucci later held a White House briefing on Friday and confirmed his new position. He also named Sarah Huckabee Sanders as new press secretary. Scaramucci said he loved President Donald Trump and would be very local to him.
