Mother, 28, dies in car accident, 5 children injured in North bay

A 28-year-old mother was killed and five children seriously injured in a solo vehicle rollover crash on state Highway 12 in unincorporated Solano County on Tuesday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

She was identified on Wednesday by the coroner as Lydellaricia King of Stockton. Her sister, Toteeonna King, told KTVU that the family has no clue why her sister's car lost control. She said her sister was on her way to Fairfield "to take care of some business" and she insisted her sister was not the type of person to drink and drive.

"She was a loving person," King said of her sister. "She loved her kids. She fought for what she believed in. She loved to dance. She loved to do hair."

King did not want to elaborate more on her sister's occupation, other than her being a full-time mom.

Everyone inside the 1999 Ford Taurus was ejected in the crash on westbound Highway 12 near Nurse Slough Road south of Suisun City around 5:30 p.m., CHP Officer David Harvey said.

The children between 3 months old and 8 years old suffered major injuries and were taken to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital in Oakland.

King said on Thursday that the children were still in the hospital, but that they would be "fine."
