Woman, 77, fatally struck in San Jose, police seek hit-and-run driver
SAN JOSE, Calif. - San Jose police continue their search on Friday for the driver of a car involved in a fatal hit-and-run of a 77-year-old woman.
Investigators say the driver was behind the wheel of a dark blue mini-van or SUV, traveling southbound of Vista Park Drive about 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The driver sped away from the scene, while the woman was rushed to an area hospital, police said.
She was pronounced dead a short time later.
Investigators say this is the city’s 33rd fatal collision of the year, and the 14th fatal vehicle-pedestrian accident of 20-8.
