Woman says she woke up to intruder masturbating in her bedroom

Fremont police released a sketch on June 27, 2018, of a suspect who allegedly broke into a home last week and then exposed himself to a resident inside.

Fremont police have released a sketch of a suspect who allegedly broke into a home last week and then exposed himself to a resident inside.

Officers responded at 2:20 a.m. last Thursday to a report of a burglary in progress at a home on Andromeda Circle.

They arrived to learn that a male suspect had entered the home via an unlocked rear glass sliding door. An 18-year-old woman inside the home woke up to the sound of the suspect and opened her eyes to see him naked and masturbating near her bedroom doorway, police said.

The victim screamed, alerting other occupants in the home, and the suspect fled on foot.

He remains at large, but a Fremont police detective worked with the victim to develop a composite sketch of him. He is described as a white or possibly mixed race man in his early 20s who is about 5 feet 5 or 6 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds, according to police.

He had dirty brown hair kept in a fade-style haircut, was described as athletic but not muscular, and had a tattoo on his left arm at or just below the bicep of a thin green ring or band, similar to barbed wire
or a rose stem with thorns, police said.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Detective M. Collins at mjcollins@fremont.gov or to call (510) 790-6900. People can remain anonymous and can also send tips to 888-777 with "TIP FREMONTPD" followed by the message.
