Women who apparently jumped from Bay Bridge after crash survives fall

- OAKLAND, Calif. (BCN and KTVU) – A woman who reportedly fell or jumped off the Bay Bridge Wednesday morning following a car crash, has been located, according to the CHP.

According to the CHP, the woman was picked up by a dump truck driver, and dropped off in San Francisco. 

The CHP says the woman was driving a stolen car when she crashed at 2:06 a.m. on eastbound Interstate Highway 80, on the bridge just east of the Treasure Island off-ramp.

Responding officers located the crash involving a single vehicle and a person standing off the roadway on the bike path.

Two women had reportedly left the scene of the crash and were seen walking east on the bike path.

A responding officer then saw one of the women either fall or jump from the bridge and into the water.

One eastbound lane of the bridge was closed for several hours as emergency crews searched for the woman.

Details on the woman's current whereabouts have not been released.
