Young woman at center of police sex abuse scandal sues Richmond
The young woman at the center of a police abuse sex scandal has filed a lawsuit against the city of Richmond.
Jasmin Abuslin is the daughter of an Oakland police dispatcher. Abuslin says she was a former teen prostitute who went by the name Celeste Guap.
She says police officers from across the Bay Area exploited her and had sex with her; some of them, when she was still a minor.
Last May, Abuslin settled a lawsuit with the city of Oakland for $989,000.
Her lawsuit against the Richmond police department seeks unspecified damages.
