OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - Steph Curry is auctioning off two pairs of specially designed Under Armour Curry 3 shoes to benefit the Oakland Fire Relief Fund.
“We were all devastated by the news of this tragedy and the loss of so many young lives right here in our community,” said Curry. “My goal in wearing these shoes was to not only honor the victims that lost their lives that night, but also to raise awareness for the relief efforts that are underway. Hopefully through this auction we can help further assist with those efforts.”
According to the Warriors, the 12.5 size shoes were created by DezCustomz and KreativeCustomKicks as commissioned by Curry in partnership with Under Armour.
Curry wore the shoes on-court before and during the Warriors game versus the New York Knicks.
The proceeds will go to the Oakland Fire Relief fund which will help the victims and victims' families of the fire. Under Armour is also donating $25,000 to the fund. The Warriors organization previously pledged a $50,000 donation to the fund while the players and coaches pledged $75,000.
