Baobab reminds us of the lively African restaurants of Paris, but this is California, so don't be too surprised to see dishes like grilled tofu with peanut sauce on the menu. The food isn't always consistent, but we always have a good time. Old location on 19th Street (415-643-3558) is still open on some nights, usually when the new, larger location is full. In this case, new and bigger isn't a bad thing at all, the Baobab is still a special place.
