Description: One of the Tenderloin's favorite dives, the food here is outstanding Pakistani/Indian with big flavor and low prices. For years, Shalimar has attracted a unbelievably diverse crowd -- downtown suits, street hustlers, urban intellectuals and wayward tourists. They all stand in line, place an order and fight for a seat. Magically, the food comes out without a bill, and afterwards the counterperson just remembers your order and gives you a rounded-off total - always fair, always cheap. With the addition of table cloths, Shalimar may have lost come ghetto clout, but the food still rocks the house.
