Description: Oriental Pearl is located on Clay, just down off Grant. Why is this significant? Because it's close to the action in Chinatown, but yet so far away. While countless restaurants along Grant beckon tourists in for inflated prices and average (or worse) food, a quick turn down Clay and a flight of stairs up to Oriental Pearl you'll find a warm welcome, fair prices, fresh dim sum and a bit of serenity. While lacking the adventure of the larger houses, this is a perfect place to bring dim sum virgins, as the staff is patient and accommodating to every visitor. It's also a nice find for a weekday lunch.

Recommended Dishes:
Dim sum menu is brief but it's made fresh on order instead of wheeled out on carts. It may take longer but when it comes out fresh and warm, it's worth the wait. Noodle dishes are also a highlight.
