Paul Dunlap April
Paul Dunlap, an English Teacher at Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto, is Sylvan Learning Center's "Best Educator Awards" recipient for April 2003. Dunlap brings his excitement for English Literature to the classroom and turns the students' interests into passion.

Rosemary Kamkar May
Rosemary Kamkar is the Resource Specialist and Co-Student Activities Director at Abraham Lincoln High School in San Francisco. Kamkar is especially proud of her work on the school's yearly "Brotherhood/Sisterhood" assembly, which embraces cultural differences in a positive way.

John Kaufman June
John Kaufman, a fifth and sixth grade teacher at San Geronimo Valley Elementary, is Sylvan Learning Center's "Best Educator Awards" recipient for June 2003. Kaufman's teaching style can best be described as unique. His students learn through creative role-playing and problem solving.

Cameron Teasdale July
Cameron Teasdale, a fifth grade teacher at Berkeley Arts Magnet School, is Sylvan Learning Center's "Best Educator Awards" recipient for July 2003. With pictures, flags, memorabilia and historical pieces of Americana, Teasdale brings American culture and heritage to life in her classroom. She inspires in her students a passion for U.S. history and a drive for achievement.

Each winner listed above is currently featured on KTVU Channel 2 through public service announcements and are also included in the KTVU website. In addition, Sylvan Learning Centers provided each honoree with a $1,000 certificate to a teacher supply store and a scholarship to (1) one graduate level teacher education course from Canter & Associates. |
