Casey Blake homered and drove in three runs for Cleveland, while Victor Martinez added an RBI single. Matt Tolbert, Joe Mauer and Nick Punto each had a hit for the Twins, who have lost five of six games and eight straight versus the Indians. Final Score: LA Angels of Anaheim 5, Seattle 4 Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - The acquisition of Torii Hunter continues to pay dividends for the Angels. Hunter tied a team record with three doubles, drove in three runs and robbed Richie Sexson of the go-ahead homer, possibly his third round-tripper of the night, to record the final out of the game, as Los Angeles beat Seattle, 5-4 in the opener of a three-game series. Hunter played despite being involved in a car accident before the game. His new Bentley was rear-ended at a stop light near the stadium before the game. Joe Saunders (3-0) threw eight solid innings, allowing six hits and four runs to get the victory. Francisco Rodriguez closed the door for his seventh save, as the Angels won for the fifth time in six games. R.A. Dickey (0-1) was charged with eight hits and five runs over six innings and suffered the loss. Sexson had a three-run homer and a solo shot, but the Mariners had a three- game winning streak snapped. Emil Brown was also 3-for-5, totaling three RBI and scoring two runs, while Ryan Sweeney had three hits as well for Oakland, which ended a three-game skid. Chad Gaudin (1-1) tossed seven solid innings, allowing two runs -- one earned -- on four hits while striking out eight. Gaudin and A's relievers Santiago Casilla and Andrew Brown combined to retire 18 straight Kansas City hitters over the final six innings, and were aided by a breakout performance from the offense, which exploded late to post a four- run sixth inning and an eight-spot in the eighth. Brian Bannister (3-1) was saddled with his first loss of the season, getting charged with five runs on nine hits in five-plus innings. The Kansas City bullpen didn't help the cause, as Yasuhiko Yabuta and Hideo Nomo combined to allow a combined eight runs on four hits and four walks during an excruciatingly slow eighth inning. Billy Butler had the lone RBI for the Royals, losers of three of four.
