(Sports Network) - The odds of the Charlotte Bobcats extending their season high winning streak to five games are bleak, as they host the mighty Boston Celtics tonight from Time Warner Cable Arena.

The Bobcats have won four in a row and are searching for their first five-game winning streak since ripping off six consecutive victories from February 25 - March 7 of last season. Larry Brown's squad is coming off Saturday's 92-76 triumph over the Washington Wizards thanks to 14 points and 14 rebounds from Gerald Wallace.

Raymond Felton and Tyson Chandler both scored 12 points, while Stephen Jackson finished with 11 points, six rebounds and four assists for the Bobcats, who will try to extend their home winning streak to four games Tuesday.

"If our defense hadn't been as good as it's been, we probably would have been 0-8 or 0-9 or on a 10-game losing streak," Wallace said. "But our defense kept us in same games, gave us an opportunity to win some games."

Boston is also riding a four-game winning streak and opened a four-game road trip with a 92-85 victory over the Miami Heat on Sunday in south Florida.

Kevin Garnett had 24 points and eight boards for the Atlantic Division-leading Celtics, who improved to 13-4 on the season and 6-1 away from Beantown. Rajon Rondo added 13 points and 11 assists, Paul Pierce had 15 points and Kendrick Perkins contributed 14 points and 13 rebounds in a winning effort.

"He was big for us, especially defensively," Pierce said of Garnett. "He was really aggressive on the offensive end. He's starting to get a lot of his lift back."

After their bout in Charlotte, the Celtics will visit San Antonio and Oklahoma City to close out the road swing. In other team news, Boston newcomer Rasheed Wallace was fined $30,000 for a comment he made after Friday's win versus Toronto.

The Celtics defeated Charlotte, 92-59, on October 28 this season at TD Garden and have won two straight and 14 of the 19 meetings between the teams. Boston is 6-3 all-time as the visitor in this series.
