49ers release player Tramaine Brock after his arrest

SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) -- The 49ers announced Friday that the team has released cornerback Tramaine Brock, a few hours after police announced his arrest for an alleged domestic violence incident.

Brock, 28, of Santa Clara, was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on Thursday .He was released from jail on $50,000 bail Friday afternoon, sheriff's officials said.

Police said officers were called to investigate a domestic violence incident at 9:35 p.m. Thursday night. The responding officers said an unidentified woman had visible injuries.

Police said the woman was dating Brock, who was arrested on a felony domestic violence charge. Brock is a cornerback for the team.

The 49ers on Friday released a one-sentence statement saying the team had released the player. He started playing for the 49ers in 2010.
