Jade Hernandez joined the KTVU Channel 2 News team in April 2006.
Jade was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas where her parents and younger brother still reside. She earned her BA in Communications from Washburn University in Topeka. While still in high school, Jade worked as a teen reporter at KTKA, the ABC affiliate, in Topeka. She then became a full-time reporter for KTKA and eventually produced and anchored the station’s weekend 10pm newscast. From there, Jade went to Kansas City, Missouri, where she worked as a reporter and fill–in anchor at KSHB, the NBC affiliate.
Jade’s interests include hiking, traveling internationally, and visiting her many friends spread out throughout the country. She often surprises her family and friends back home with goods made or created only in the Bay Area. Her 4-year-old tabby, named Zoe (aka Diva Queen), keeps her company.
