Cooling Trend

A cooler system will approach Northern California over the next few days. Temperatures will be trending down Monday and Tuesday. No major heat in sight.

Red Flag Warning (FRI)

Warming temperature on Friday will lead to an increase in fire danger. A Red Flag Fire Warning is out for parts of Northern California (Friday: 5 am to 5 pm).

The major heat has moved out of town! Inland areas dropped a good 28 to 32 degrees from Saturday to Sunday.

Fire Weather Watch

The possibility of thunderstorms and dry lightning will increase our fire danger in the short term. A Fire Weather Watch has been posted for the North and East Bay Hills for most of Sunday.

Sunday: Slight Chance Dry Lightning

A system will move across the state to our south. There could be enough instability to trigger an isolated thunderstorm. The main concern will be "dry lightning" (little or no rain) that could start a fire. We will be watching the track of this system over the weekend.

Increasing Fire Danger

The warmer weather will boost our fire danger by Friday (especially in the North Bay Hills).

Deeper Marine Layer Monday

A deepening marine layer, coupled with a stronger onshore flow, will send cooler air in our direction. Tuesday will be the coolest day of the week. Temperatures will be soaring by Friday and Saturday.
