Rob Roth

Rob Roth has been a reporter for KTVU Channel 2 News since 1984 and has been head of the station's San Francisco Bureau covering local politics and issues.

Roth has covered San Francisco’s biggest stories, including the Christmas Day Tiger attack at the San Francisco Zoo, the indictment of San Francisco Supervisor Ed Jew, and Fajitagate.

Roth received a B.A. in Journalism at the University of Arizona. He has garnered several awards, most recently an Emmy in 2006 for a story about labor contractors exploiting migrant farm workers in the Wine Country. He also received an Emmy nomination in 2007 for an in-depth report on San Francisco’s crumbling sewer system. His timely coverage of the Oakland Hills fire resulted in three major awards in 1992: Associated Press, Peninsula Press and Radio Television News Directors Association, as well as an Emmy nomination.

Roth and his wife, Jessie, have a daughter and a son.
