Sara Sidner

Sara Sidner joined the KTVU news team as co-anchor of the weekend edition of "KTVU Channel 2 News at 6" and "The Ten O’Clock News" and weekday reporter in January of 2004. Raised in Florida, Sidner began her on-air reporting career at WUFT-TV in Gainesville, Florida before moving on to KFVS-TV in Cape Girardeau, MO and WINK-TV in Ft. Myers, FL. She was most recently at KDFW-TV, Dallas where she was a consumer reporter/anchor for three years.

Sidner has received many journalism awards, including a Regional Emmy Award, a Lone Star Award, and several Associated Press Awards for her work at KDFW-TV in Dallas where she reported on the Columbia space shuttle tragedy.

A graduate of the University of Florida with a telecommunications degree, Sidner walked on to the volleyball team where she played for three years. During her last year on the team, the Gators went on to play in the Final Four.

With a passion for travel that was instilled by her mother, Sidner has visited Italy, France, England, Guatemala, Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Ecuador, and most recently Spain where she lived for four months and took an extensive Spanish language course.
