Mike Mibach

Mike Mibach is four-time Emmy nominated and Associated Press award-winning journalist. He joined the KTVU Channel 2 News team in March 2005.

Mike was raised in Novato and San Francisco where he attended St. Ignatius College Prep School. He earned his AA degree from the College of Marin before transferring to the University of Colorado at Boulder where he graduated in 2000 from the School of Journalism with a degree in Broadcast News. While attending school in Colorado, he also worked as a reporter for CNN’s student bureau in Boulder and at a local cable station.

By August of 2000 he ventured to the heartland of America where he was a photographer and reporter at WIBW, a CBS affiliate in Topeka, Kansas. He then traveled to the southwest to KVOA-TV in Tucson, Arizona where he reported for the evening newscasts and anchored the weekend news.

Mike is a diehard San Francisco 49ers and Giants fan. He loves the beaches in Marin, the pockets of Mt Tam, golf, frisbee, and a casual mountain bike ride, water skiing and snow skiing. Mike grew up watching the 10 O’Clock News and says it’s an honor to work for KTVU.
