Parade Marks Start of Kwanzaa in South L.A.

While some festivities wrap up, others are just beginning. The celebration of Kwanzaa begins Sunday. Kwanzaa is a non-religious holiday inspired by the black civil-rights struggles of the 1960s. The seven-day celebration is observed by over 20 million people across the globe.
