OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf made good on her bet with Toronto Mayor John Tory after the Warriors fell to the Raptors in the NBA Finals.
The deal was if the Warriors loss, Schaaf would send over products from Oakland based companies like Everett and Jones, Oaklandish, Red Bay Cafe, and Old Kan Beer.
And if the Raptors were defeated, Tory wagered a case of Canadian and one of Toronto's famous bacon sandwiches.
The friendly bet was all part of a challenge to see which mayor could raise the most money for charity.
Today we did good on our bet with Toronto mayor @johntory. With the help of local businesses we will be sending him some of Oakland's finest! Our #charitychallenge was a success and now @aacfb and @sfmfoodbank will be able to provide 45,000 meals to those in need. pic.twitter.com/9TkbN8Jrc4— Libby Schaaf (@LibbySchaaf) June 17, 2019
