Mercury in Dried Fish Jerky
You can find them at Asian food markets or even big-box stores. The latest trend in easy-to-reach-for snacks is now fish jerky, and it was the topic of a new study that tested the levels of mercury in this food project. According to mercury expert, Dr. Jane Hightower, a physician at the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, the mercury levels were discovered to be been dangerous and extremely high. Dr. Hightower claims that the FDA is not monitoring the mercury levels found in fish jerky. Dr. Hightower’s study is being reviewed by several agencies, including the Hawaii State Department of Health.
