East Oakland Boxing Association

The East Oakland Boxing Association is an organization that has helped keep many kids and youth off the streets, but has recently been in danger of closing. They offer activities such as boxing classes, health and nutrition workshops, gardening, and academic and tutoring services - all as a way to provide a fun, safe place for the young people in the Oakland community. Executive Director, Sarah Chavez and Frank Hartwell, Jr., a high school student who has grown up with EOBA, talk about how this organization has helped so many young people, and why they need the community’s help to keep their doors open.
