As the topic of stem-cells continues to intrigue the public, there is another form of obtaining certain stem-cells that not many know about, and that is through blood from the umbilical cord. Better known as cord blood, these stem cells have been used to treat and cure a number of diseases, including reports of it successfully curing HIV/AIDS. Oakland ZooCamp
Meet some cute friends as they join us on the set of “Bay Area People” in preparation for the Oakland Zoo’s Walk in the Wild and ZooCamp events. Walk in the Wild will be a special event geared towards adults, allowing them to enjoy their local zoo while sampling wine, beer and other beverages, as well as tasting some of the best food bites local restaurants have to offer.
Walk in the Wild is a popular fundraising event supporting various Oakland Zoo programs.
ZooCamp is a summer long camp experience for kids to learn more about the cool creatures at the zoo. Find out more about both events and enjoy the on-screen antics of Stella and Pokey!
